The concept of sustainability doesn’t only span the realms of ecology and conservation, but just as much applies to human affairs. In a world where war-stricken regions rip apart communities and alienate people from each other, it is more important than ever to foster positive and progressive international solidarity, and therefore sustain peaceful human and international relations.
One particular organization is doing just that. Seeds of Peace is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering leadership and communication skills amongst the youth of conflict-laden regions of the world. Its mission is to empower the youth of such regions with confidence, empathy, and respect and to subsequently equip them with diplomatic tools that will aid in fostering more peaceful affairs for the future, ideally, by contributing to the relief of turmoil within their home countries.

With today’s technology anyone can take cream and make butter. Simply take a mixer and attach the paddle and begin to beat the cream. Often after twenty minutes all you have is very heavy whipping cream. If you stopped there, you would never have butter. Sometimes it is only ten minutes later and the cream begins to separate and globs of butter begin to rise. You drain away the whey, rinse it gently and you have fresh butter to gently form into a ball or block.
At any step, if you quit you would not have butter. Even when the butter appears, you still aren’t finished. The final goal has not been reached.
What stage of life are you in: Milk, cream, unformed butter, whey or butterball? Have you settled for cream when moving out of your comfort zone will produce your secret dream? What is the dream that you dare not share?

I’ve heard it said that hurting people, hurt people. I have also known this statement to be true personally, as I’ve experienced both sides of this coin. Sometimes I’ve been the one who has caused the pain. But other times, the pain has come from outside sources. Namely, people both saved and unsaved, who have not yet experienced all the inner healing that Jesus Christ offers.

Who do you see when you look in the mirror?
For years, all I saw was what my dad told me I was and reflections of childhood taunts: I remember when I was in high school I worked at the telephone company, where I got off at ten o’clock at night. To save money I parked two blocks away at the post office. I wanted to pay the fifty cents and park next door, however my dad said that would be a waste of money.
I pleaded. Finally Dad said, “What are you afraid of? If somebody grabs you, get under a bright light. When they see what they’ve got, they’ll let you go.” This is the same man who had been sexually abusing me for eight years.
